Eva says no to Sexy lingerie!

Sexy Eva Longoria has every reason to flaunt her gorgeous body but the Desperate Housewives star refuses to wear skimpy underwear in the show.

The petite actress, who plays feisty Gabrielle Solis on the popular Channel 4 series, admitted she’s allowed to veto clothes to wear on the programme and rejects the revealing ones.

The 33-year-old said: "I'm always saying, 'Isn't that a bit much?' to some of the lingerie.

"I try on a lot of the lingerie and I veto a lot. I have said no to some very cheeky underwear. I do not like to do that. And I've said no to different bras that do different things."

Eva Mendes prefers boyfriend's underwear

Apparently boxers are more comfortable than knickers, according to Eva Mendes who has revealed that she likes the feel of her boyfriend’s underwear so much that she often wears them.

Eva insists she prefers boxers to knickers and was quoted saying ‘I don’t like lacy and I don’t like contraptions!’ she says. ‘My favourite is my boyfriend’s Calvin Kleins. I wear them around the house all the time.’

Eva, 34, has also had her recent ad for Calvin Klein Secret Obsession classed as too 'provocative' for TV. US censors advised that the ad which shows a nipple shot, will only be available to view online.

Janet Jackson to launch Lingerie Line - Pleasure Principle

Legendary diva Janet Jackson has teamed up with Bruno Schiavi a well known Australian lingerie designer (Dr. Rey’s Shapewear line), to produce an 18-piece lingerie collection which is to be named Pleasure Principle after the hit from her 1986 multi-platinum album “Control”. The lingerie is designed and crafted mostly in luxurious satin & lace and is dubbed to be comfortable in a range of sizes — 32A to 44G.

Janet when interviewed, said that her design priority was for the lingerie to be comfortable and beautiful as well as affordable. 'I hate when you’ve had on a bra all day long and you just can’t wait to take it off — every woman has experienced that', 'This line is about detail, fit and comfort as well as beauty and making women feel sexy

Dita Von Tees Launches Wonderbra Lingerie Range

Dita Von Teese has this month debuted her new Wonderbra lingerie line.

Available from wonderbra by mid September, the collection created by Dita includes three different Styles - Multi-Teese, Spot-Teese and Satin-Teese - all inspired by lingerie from the '40s and '50s.

Lingerie & Nightwear Terms

Babydoll Nightie
A babydoll is basically a short nightdress worn with panties underneath. Short, sleeveless, loose fitting nightgown or negligee intended as nightwear for women. It usually consists of formed cups with an attached loose fitting skirt falling in length between the hips and the belly button. The garment is often trimmed with lace, ruffles, appliques, Marabou fur, bows and ribbons, optionally with spaghetti straps. Sometimes it is made of sheer or translucent fabric like nylon or chiffon or silk. The garment’s hemline is usually about six inches above the knee like a minidress and may have a scoop-neck. Usually panties are worn underneath
Basques & Bustiers
A Basque an article of lingerie, particularly styled as a torso-hugging camisole that resembles a corset (typically featuring decorative front or back lace-up detail), but of more delicate construction and offering little or no figure moulding compression.The Bustier is similar to a Basque. but shorter reaching only down to the ribs its primary purpose to push up the bust and gently shape the waist doubling up as a push-up bra for inner wear and as a camisole for outer wear.

Bodystocking
A bodystocking is an article of lingerie, similar to a leotard or a catsuit. It is much the same thing as a unitard, but the term bodystocking is likely to be preferred when the garment is worn as an underlayer in cold weather. Body stockings are often crotchless, made from a sheer fabric similar to those used for stockings and tights, or from fishnet material. Some people consider bodystockings to be an erotic garment.

Bodysuit
Snug fitting one-piece garment similar to a leotard with legs but may or may not have sleeves.

Boyshorts
Also known as boy short panties, boys’ cut, booty shorts, shorties or boyleg briefs are a sort of lingerie that goes all the way down the hips. They are a relatively new, but increasingly popular style of lingerie among women and are named for their similarity in looks to men’s shorts. Boy shorts often cover most of the buttocks area, but this is not always the case with thong-back lingerie also widely available. Boy shorts are a popular choice since most of them may avoid displaying a prominent visible panty line provided they don’t ride up, and yet are a modest and comfortable alternative to thongs and panties.

Bra
The bra is considered a foundation garment, as well as an undergarment, because of its role in shaping the wearer’s figure. It was originally developed in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries to replace the corset, and has now become, in many parts of the world, the most popular form of undergarment for the upper body.
The bra may be worn to support and enhance breast shape during everyday activities and a specialized bra, the sports bra to support and restrain breasts during exercise. The bra may also be worn to observe modesty or to present a certain image of femininity. Bras are typically designed to lift the breasts into a particular position, for a more youthful look or for enhancing cleavage. These roles are sometimes conflicting. Some designers aim at producing a garment that fulfills a practical role as well as making it look attractive.

Camisole
A camisole or cami is a woman’s underwear which covers the top part of the body. It is sleeveless and tight fitting in contrast to a loose-fitting chemise. A camisole is sometimes worn cropped allowing midriff exposure, but often covers the entire torso.
A camisole can be worn over a brassiere or without one. Some camisoles come with a built-in underwire bra which eliminates the need for a bra among those who prefer one. Recently, camisoles have been known to be used as outerwear

Chemise
Usually a short nightgown hemmed below the hip but above the knee. Held up by thin straps, the gown should fit snugly at the bust and upper torso and fall loosely and flow flatterringly past the hips

Corset
A corset is a garment worn to mold and shape the torso into a desired shape. While modern “corsets” and “corset tops” often feature lacing and/or boning and generally mimic a historical style of corsets, they are not as tightly ‘moulding’ as the original styles, but still offer shaping qualities without the risk of passing out!

Crotchless
Crotchless underwear can be a fun addition to your love life. Can be worn to display the body or genitals in certain ways, while some are intended to provide genital stimulation as well.

Denier
This is the thickness of one thread of nylon used in making hosiery. The lower the number in denier, the lighter and finer the yarn, and thus the sheerer the stocking. 15-denier fabric is very thin and transparent. A hair from the average human head is about 50 Denier.

G String
A G-string is a type of thong, a narrow piece of material that covers or holds the genitals, passes between the buttocks, and is attached to a band around the hips. A g-string has less material between the legs and bottom than a Thong.

Plus Size
An extra long or “oversize” clothing size. Plus size clothing generally begins at about size 16 upwards.

Stockings
Are a form of women’s hosiery configured as 2 pieces, which are worn with a suspender belt or garter. Hold up stockings are able to stay up on their own without the need for suspenders.

Teddie/Teddy
Lingerie item that combines a camisole with a panty. A teddy can be fitted to the body or loose and is worn either under clothing or as sleepwear. A combination of camisole and panty with high cut legs and usually a thong in back, however, some risqué styles may use a G String back.

Thong
Thong underwear and swimwear is a style characterized by a thin strip of material along the centre of the garment’s rear, designed to sit between the wearer’s buttocks connecting the front or pouch to the waistband behind the wearer.Thongs come in a variety of styles

Tights
Tights are a type of fabric leg covering, usually extending from the waist to feet, and fitting as tightly as possible to the body. Styles of today also feature footless versions.

Knicker Fetish Thief had 1000 pairs!

A sexual deviant caught hoarding up to 1,000 pairs of ladies knickers has been warned his future liberty is on the line.

Lingerie fetishist Paul Whitaker has been ordered by a judge to stop adding to his collection by stealing from washing lines or be jailed.

Last August, Whitaker was wrestled to the ground by an angry householder after stealing six pairs of women's knickers from a clothes line in Silsden, Bradford Crown Court heard yesterday.

Whitaker, 39, has three previous convictions for disporting himself in women's underwear.

In December 1997, he was arrested in a field wearing only a bra, lace pants, stockings and suspender belt.

Whitaker pleaded guilty to stealing the knickers in August and was sentenced to an 18-month conditional discharge.

But Judge Jonathan Durham Hall told Whitaker members of the public took "a dim view" of his excessive zeal for his fetish.

The judge said: "Whatever you do in private is absolutely a matter for you but when you see someone's knickers on the line - don't - leave them alone.

"If you forget, and you do, I will have to send you to prison."

Prosecutor Ken Green said Whitaker was chased by a woman's brother after he was seen stealing from the family's washing line.

As he ran, he hurled knickers into gardens from his coat pocket.

He was detained after a struggle, Mr Green said.

Police searching Whitaker's home, in Berrington Way, Oakworth, Keighley, found up to 1,000 pairs of women's knickers.

Mr Green said there were 700 in one bedroom and numerous other pairs around the house - too many for officers to count or seize.

Whitaker told police he had no interest in women's underwear but liked to buy his partner lingerie.

The court heard Whitaker had convictions for public nuisance and indecent exposure, linked to his fetish.

In 1997, he was spotted hidden in a field in Whiskers Lane, Shibden.

A woman on her horse saw him discard his outer clothing to reveal women's underwear.

He was arrested at the scene in bra, lace knickers, suspender belt and white stockings.

Whitaker had with him a bin bag containing two more pairs of knickers, Mr Green said.

He had two convictions for public nuisance having been caught committing sex acts while wearing women's knickers in shop cubicles in 2002.

He bought the knickers he was trying on in the British Heart Foundation Charity Shop in Skipton town centre, Mr Green said.

He had a pair of knickers on his head in a cubicle at the nearby Bon Marche store while performing another indecent act, the court heard.

Mr Green told the judge: "These are the peculiar facts of these two previous convictions."

Whitaker's barrister Stephen Wood said his client had never been guilty of any sexual touching.

Although the probation service found he had "anger issues to women generally", Whitaker had been in a long-term relationship and was the father of a young child.

"He has fantasies and fetishes that involve women's underwear," said Mr Wood said.

Judge Durham Hall asked: "Why doesn't he buy them instead of stealing them?"

Mr Wood said Whitaker, now of Bankside Crescent, Yeadon, did not have a history of dishonesty.

"If he had stolen six pairs of men's underwear from Marks & Spencer, the court might be looking at a conditional discharge," he said.

The judge said he had some sympathy for Whitaker who had not had an easy time when growing up.

But he said Whitaker might one day accept that his actions upset other people.

Size zero catwalk ban dropped

Hilary Riva, chief executive of the British Fashion Council, confirmed this week that recent plans to ban size zero models on London's catwalk have been dropped, following a lack of support from the remaining fashion week cities in New York, Paris and Milan.

The initiative if implemented would see models having to gain doctor's certificates to confirm their health, before they could walk in fashion shows.

The plans had full government backing with praise and support for the initiative, however following the refusal from New York, Paris and Milan to follow London's lead, the scheme has been dropped due to representatives claiming they feared models would boycott the shows if the health certificate measures were introduced.

The doctors certification and body mass index was apparently a deciding factor for the New York council, who claimed that the scheme was inappropriate, and felt 'it was wrong' to force a girl to have a physical examination, especially when the signs of a problem weren't always obvious.'

The announcement that models would have to pay between £250-£500 annually for the certificate, in my opinion is probably why the plans didn't go down too well!
